Typical cloth lengths

Garment	Typical length
Women's shirt	2.5 m
Women's trouser	2.5 m
Dupatta or shawl	2.5 m
Women's 3-piece suit	7.5 m

These are common lengths. Longer cuts, flared hems, fuller sleeves and patterned cloth may need more. Your tailor can confirm before you order.

Measuring

A tailor will take proper measurements, but if you are measuring yourself, measure over light clothing and keep the tape snug but not tight. Common measurements include chest, waist, hips, shoulder, sleeve length and the length you want the garment to reach.
